Ten things to get right when interviewing for a job

Just take care of these ten things and you'll vastly increase your chances of succeeding at job interviews -- and going on to build a career with your chosen employer.

Do act and respond to questions in a positive manner. Maintain a positive outlook about the whole process.
Speak clearly, with authority and confidence in yourself.
Avoid being overly aggressive. You don't want to be perceived as an egotistical person who may find it difficult to get along with co-workers.
Do convey your interest in and enthusiasm for working at the company, in the position you are targeting.
Never get defensive or annoyed when questioned about any aspect of your background, career, or anything else.
Be alert and interested throughout the interview. Never act bored or uninterested.
Maintain eye contact with the interviewer without staring aggressively.
Never speak badly about your present or past employers, bosses, colleagues, etc.
Don't excuse yourself during the interview to go to the restroom, etc, even if you have a need to.
Highlight your strengths and accomplishments. Use specific examples while responding to questions.
