When you're invited for an interview, ask for the name of the person you'll be meeting. That way, right at the start of the meeting, you can use the interviewer's name, even before being told who he or she is. This conveys a great impression -- that you're a person who is always on top of things, and do your homework well. Go beyond knowing just the name of the interviewer, however. Ask questions and find out their exact role at the company, any significant achievements they have to their credit at the organization, samples of their work, etc. Try to obtain the name of the person you will be working for, the names of your future colleagues and superiors as well.
